The Deanship of Library Affairs signed an agreement with the King Fahd National Library for the university's accession to the Saudi Union Catalog (Fahares).
The Dean of Library Affairs represented the university, Dr. Essa bin Khalaf Al-Dossary, and on behalf of the King Fahd National Library, the director of the Saudi Union Catalog Project, Professor Othman bin Mohammed Al-Asmari.
This agreement comes within the framework of the efforts of the Deanship of Library Affairs in order to benefit from the leading experiences in the field of information repositories and to support the national complementary role among Saudi libraries, as it is considered.
The Saudi Union Catalog project is one of the mechanisms to support the knowledge economy in the knowledge society, which is one of the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University is the first university.
The Saudi Organization for the Saudi Union Catalog (Fahares).
This agreement allows to benefit from the services provided by the Saudi Union Catalog in the field of bibliographic control and to contribute to the development of information services within libraries.
