General Instructions for Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University Libraries
The Deanship of Library Affairs welcomes the visitors of the Central Library and would like to draw your attention to the following instructions:
- Complete calm when entering the library and not disturbing others.
- Put the mobile on silent.
- Not eating food inside the library and placing napkins and paper clips inside the baskets prepared for this to maintain the cleanliness of the library.
- It is forbidden to reserve seats or move them from their places and not to sit in the places designated for library staff.
- Not to operate or stop electrical appliances, open and close windows and doors, and not use the charger inside the library or any electrical equipment.
- Leave books and references after completing them on the table and refer to the responsible employee to obtain the required information.
- It is forbidden to use mobile phones or special cameras to photograph the university library holdings.
- You must adhere to the specified time and the directives of the technician responsible for the devices. The flash is only used under his supervision and returned to him when facing any problem.

Lending procedures at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University libraries
- It must be ensured that the borrowing procedures are completed before leaving the library, and that no book is taken out before its borrowing is restricted.
- The borrower shall be fined one riyal for each book for each day of delay in return.
- The borrower is not allowed to borrow other books unless he has the overdue books back.
- If the delay period exceeds (15 days), the book is considered lost and the beneficiary will be fined the cost of the book as decided by the competent committees.
- The Deanship has the right to set appropriate penalties for anyone who delays returning the borrowed books, damages them, loses them, or any damage that occurs to the borrowed books.
- The beneficiary of the university’s employees is not entitled to borrow unless he has a university card or proof of his identity.
- All university employees are required to obtain a disclaimer upon (leaving work / graduation / sabbatical / scholarship and training for more than a semester / leaving work)
- In the event of a need for a loaned letter, a request to return it from the beneficiary through the system, and the beneficiary must respond immediately, and in the event of failure to respond, the Deanship has the right to impose the appropriate penalty.
- The Dean of Library Affairs or his representative may exempt or reduce material delay penalties and the penalty of deprivation from lending when there is a justification for that.
- The Dean of Library Affairs or his representative has the right to deprive the borrower of borrowing for a period not exceeding one academic year if he misuses the library’s tools or holdings, or mistreats its staff.
- If a book is lost or damaged, the borrower is obliged to bring an alternative copy of the same edition or a newer edition with its binding if the borrowed copy is bound.
- If it is not possible to bring a copy, the value of the book shall be paid in addition to the indirect costs related to bringing the book, classifying it and other things that are necessary according to the assessment of the competent committees.
- If it is not possible to amicably collect the fines imposed on the beneficiaries, they are collected by deduction from the financial insurance deposited with the Deanship of Library Affairs, or by requesting payment through the official authorities in the country.
- The beneficiary from outside the university pays a financial guarantee determined by the Deanship Council and updated continuously
- The lending department receives the financial guarantee amounts, and deposits them with the financial officer in the library or in the account of the Deanship.
- The right of the beneficiary to recover the insurance shall be forfeited if 15 days have passed since the end of the loan period without the beneficiary returning the letter.
- In the event of its loss or delay in its delivery, it shall be deducted from the insurance amount for the beneficiary.
